Real wheat pasta. Most of the semolina gone.

Impastable, made by ThinSlim Foods

Regular pasta is mostly semolina. Impastable swaps most of it for oat fiber, wheat fiber, wheat protein isolate and egg whites. That is why a bowl fits a low-carb day, and why a pack costs more than a box from the pasta aisle.

If a ThinSlim Foods or Impastable item is not for you, our 100% money-back taste guarantee covers one unit of that item. Read the details.

Impastable versus the pasta aisle

Every pasta below is measured the same way: 2oz dry, the serving printed on the box. The other columns are the leading brand in each category, using the Nutrition Facts that brand publishes. We name the type of pasta, not the brand.

Impastable figures are from the current product label (Impastable Low Carb Pasta Elbows; every shape shares the same recipe and label). Regular pasta is the USDA FoodData Central reference for dry enriched pasta. The other four columns are the leading brand in each category, from the Nutrition Facts each brand publishes, read in October 2026. Net carbs are total carbohydrate minus dietary fiber; for Impastable, 44g total, 36g fiber, 8g net. Labels change, so check the package you buy.

Where Impastable wins

Calories, by a wide margin: less than half of any other pasta in the table. Fiber, the most of any. Net carbs, within 2g of the lowest, and a fifth of regular pasta.

Where it does not

Protein. Impastable is a low-calorie, low-carb pasta, not a protein pasta. If protein is your goal, a lupini or edamame pasta gives you several times more per serving, at more than twice the calories.

What replaced the semolina

Five ingredients, in the order they appear on the label. No gums, no oils, no sweeteners. The label reads: oat fiber, wheat fiber, wheat protein isolate, egg whites, durum flour.

Oat fiber
Insoluble fiber milled from the hull of the oat. It is the first ingredient by weight and adds most of the fiber on the label, which is what keeps net carbs low.
Wheat fiber
Fiber from the wheat plant. It adds body and more fiber without adding net carbs.
Wheat protein isolate
The protein of wheat with most of the starch removed. It gives the dough the stretch and chew that let it extrude into shapes and hold together in boiling water. It is the same ingredient that lets our bread read 0g net carbs.
Egg whites
Protein and bite from egg whites.
Durum flour
The wheat regular pasta is made from. In Impastable it is the last ingredient by weight, there for pasta flavor rather than carbohydrate.

Why a pack costs more than a box

Semolina is one of the least expensive ingredients in the grocery store. The fibers and wheat protein that take its place cost several times more per pound, and they make up most of the recipe.

You are paying for the recipe

Every pack carries the cost of replacing most of the semolina. Every serving carries the result: 8g net carbs instead of about 40g, and 55 calories instead of about 200.

You are not paying for filler

Five ingredients. No gums, no oils, no sweeteners, no sugar alcohols. Every ingredient is on the label, and every permanent product goes to an independent lab for its Nutrition Facts.

Compare it per serving

A pack holds 4 servings, and each product page shows the price per serving next to the pack price. That is the number to put beside your other pasta dinner options.

It is wheat pasta.

Impastable is extruded into shapes, cooked in boiling water and served with sauce. Cook it according to the package directions and treat it like the pasta it is.

It contains wheat and egg, so it is not gluten-free. Read the full label and allergen statement on the product page before you order.
