When you are tired of eggs, breakfast can begin with yogurt, cottage cheese, fish, tofu, or yesterday's dinner. Choose something you enjoy, then check whether its portion provides the protein and carbohydrate that suit your needs.
Three breakfasts to put into rotation
A yogurt bowl: Start with plain Greek-style yogurt, then add a measured portion of berries and chopped nuts. Keep the nuts separate until you eat if you pack breakfast ahead. Compare exact yogurt labels because products and serving sizes differ.
Savory cottage cheese: Add chopped cucumber, tomato, black pepper, and herbs. Serve with the bread or other accompaniment you prefer, or use the same ingredients as a toast topping.
A fish sandwich: Spread your chosen bread with a little cream cheese or another suitable spread, then add cooked or ready-to-eat fish and cucumber. Follow storage instructions and keep perishable fillings cold during transport.
For a warm breakfast, borrow from dinner
Reheat a safely stored portion of chicken and vegetables, or make a quick tofu scramble. Cook chopped mushrooms in a little oil, crumble in tofu, and add pepper and a small pinch of turmeric if you like the flavor. Heat through and serve with your chosen side.
Plan leftovers when you cook dinner so breakfast does not depend on whatever remains. Use appropriate storage and reheating guidance for the exact food.
Count the bowl or plate you eat
Include toppings, fruit, bread, spreads, and drinks alongside the main food. For packaged foods, compare current labels rather than a generic entry in an app.
Try two options for a week, then keep the one that fits your morning and tastes good when you eat it. Our bagel breakfast guide offers another format.
