ThinSlim Foods Muffins Nutritional Information

When people first discover ThinSlim Foods creations they begin with astonishment and delight and inevitable lean towards skepticism about the nutritional information.

Fortunately the ThinSlim Foods creations have been lab tested to verify the nutritional information.  For a more in depth explanation we will use the ThinSlim Foods Muffins as an example.

Step 1: The serving size of the product is 56g. So this is the starting point.

Step 2 (fat):The total fat content of the product is 2.19% of the total product. Since the total product is 56 grams, this means the fat content is 2.19% of 56 grams or 1.226 grams.

Step 3(protein): The total protein content of the product is 9.99% of the total product. Since the total product is 56 grams, this means the protein content is 9.99% of 56 grams or 5.59 grams.

Step 4(carbohydrates): This part has multiple steps because the type of carbohydrates is important to the total calories and net carbs.

4a) The total carbohydrates are 35.5 % of the total product. Since the total product is 56 grams, this means the total carbohydrate content is 35.5% of 56 grams or 19.82 grams.

4b) The total sugar alcohol content, in this case all erythritol, is 18.7% of the total product. Since the total product is 56 grams, this means the total erythritol content is 18.7% of 56 grams or 10.47 grams.

4c) The insoluble fiber content is 13.69% of the total product. Since the total product is 56 grams, this means the total fiber content is 13.69% of 56 grams or 7.66 grams.

Step 5: We now need to calculate the calories from the collected nutritional profile.

5a) Fat has 9 calories per gram. The 1.226 grams of fat contribute 11.03 calories to the total.

5b) Protein has 4 calories per gram. The 5.59 grams of protein contribute 22.37 calories to the total.

5c) Carbohydrates have different calories per gram depending on the type of carbohydrate.

Erythritol carbohydrates have .2 calories per gram therefore the erythritol contributes 2.09 calories to the total (.2 calories*10.47 grams of erythritol). Depending on whom you ask, Erythritol actually has a calorie per gram value of .2 or 0.

Insoluble fiber has 0 calories per gram therefore these contribute 0 calories to the total.

There are 1.68 grams of carbohydrates left which are 4 calories per gram therefore these contribute 6.72 calories to the total.

6) Combine the total calories of all the nutritional components and the calories come to 42.25 calories (11.03+22.37+2.09+0+6.74)

7) Based on labeling laws, any amounts under 50 need to be rounded to the nearest 5. So the calorie count of 42.25 is rounded to 40 calories per muffin.

8 ) The net carbohydrates are calculated by subtracting the erythritol and total fiber from the total carbohydrates: 19.82 – 7.66 – 10.47 = 1.68 grams of net carbohydrates.
