Preparation can Prevent Bad Food Decisions and Lead to Weight Loss Success

When you find yourself hungry and short on time, you may be tempted to reach for something that is quick and easy – and that often means the selection is unhealthy. That’s why one of the main keys to success in weight loss is preparedness. Not only does this mean spending time planning out meals and healthy snacks in advance, shopping according to a pre-written list, and purchasing some healthy food items online, it also may mean doing some physical preparation in advance of meals as well. By spending an hour or two in advance of an upcoming busy week, you can provide yourself with the prepared foods to help you stay on track to lose weight for good. Two things you can do to help you achieve this goal are:

Dividing portions – if you can, it is always good to have prepackaged healthy snack options on hand. If, however, you purchase crackers, chips and cookies that come with a high quantity in the container, you can simply separate them into preportioned serving sizes in storage bags. By doing so, you can easily grab a snack without worrying you will overdo your portion sizes. This is a great option for those unhealthy splurges, but is also a good idea for healthy snacks that come in bulk, such as grapes or carrots.

Cook meat in advance – many times, it is a lack of time to prepare healthy meals that causes us to veer away from our healthy eating plan. If you spend one day a week cooking up all the meat you plan to use for meals, you can then save them in portioned containers in the freezer to be thawed quickly when needed for a meal.

In addition to physically preparing your foods for the week, you can purchase individually-wrapped healthy foods that are quick, easy and prevent you from splurging by shopping at ThinSlim Foods!
